Meet Our Donors

Lt Col Harper L. Bohr, Jr., USMC (Ret.)

Although Harper Bohr's decision to serve his country was influenced by admiration for his cousins' Army service in WWII, he chose a different path. Harper thought Marines were the toughest, the best, and he wanted to see if he could make the cut. After high school and at the start of the Korean War, he enlisted. After Korea, he attended college, enrolled in the PLC, became an infantry officer and later taught in the NROTC at Cornell University. Says Harper, "I'm still proud that a student I commissioned completed his career as LtGen Robert R. —Rusty' Blackman, Jr., USMC (Ret.) and became the 2nd President & CEO of the MCHF."

Well before the National Museum of the Marine Corps opened, Harper was an enthusiastic supporter of the Marine Corps Heritage Foundation. He says that what Marines do every day, they do for their country. "I want the Corps' remarkable legacy to continue and to be universally well known," says Harper. "My legacy gift will help the MCHF do just that. Why not create your own legacy gift for the MCHF?"
